Help spread laughter

Amalgam Improv aims to share laughter and levity with the community and without a prohibitive cost. Improv means so much to each person participating in our events, and we want to share our beloved artform with you. We aim to keep our events free or at a lost cost, so everyone can enjoy them, but we do have some overhead. Support us below!

As a side note, supporting below is like a Patreon page, but fewer fees for us. Amalgam Improv is not a non-profit, so your donations are not tax deductible, but they help cover the costs of space rental, keeping the website alive, and producing our events.

Amalgam Improv is not currently a nonprofit and your donations are not tax deductible. Your support goes to covering space rentals, website & email overhead, and marketing costs to keep the cost of shows lower so prices don't stop people from attending.

Why give?

  • Amalgam Improv creates shows for improvisers of different levels to keep performing and experiment with new styles.

  • Our shows are low cost, so the community can attend without being burdened by high ticket prices.

  • We love making people laugh. We can forget that adults should play, too. We help remind adults to goof around.

  • We want to build improv as an art form. It’s incredibly fun and a jolt of energy!

  • You can also join the fun! Madison has options for taking improv classes and through Amalgam Improv, you’ll have more venues to perform!

  • Art is worthwhile supporting. It helps us reflect, learn, and restore.

 FAQs

  • Fortunately, the venues we play at don’t currently charge us, but we do rent spaces for practices, workouts, and workshops. This website also costs and we use some automation services to help running a group easier. We try to take advance of free stuff, but sometimes you just gotta pay. This also doesn’t include people’s time.

  • This is being discussed currently. Non-profits take a bit more to run than a sole proprietor LLC, but we definitely have the spirit of a non-profit. We want to let talented people perform the artform they love- improv- while also lifting peoples’ spirits without price being an exclusionary burden.

  • In a perfect world, we would. Because Amalgam is relatively new, we are exploring different ways to bring in revenue. We believe people should be paid for their efforts. For now, we are just trying to cover the basic costs of website, space, etc so we people aren’t paying out of pocket.
